WILSON (Week 81)

Can't believe this is the last week of the transfer already! These two transfers with Elder Braga have passed super fast and I think I will train now... Who knows?

This week wasn't the best but we found some great people such as a guy called Wilson. We were knocking at doors (or rather, clapping at houses) in Jardim Tatiana. This particular road was far from the favela and there was lots of nature (and dogs with a hatred towards missionaries). The last door that we knocked was Wilson's. He is a 30 year old single guy who moved from Maceió. His children will move to Sorocaba at the end of this week and he is rushing to get everything ready for them. He has been Catholic all his life but hasn't gone to church in a while. We have felt the spirit together as we have met and learned more about the gospel. He went to church this week and has a date for Sunday. Please pray for him and his children!

Unfortunately, Oscar's mum didn't allow him to be baptised and doesn't want her other children to go either. It's very sad to see youth being stopped from doing something righteous when there are so many bad things being offered to the youth in this country. Hopefully she will change her way of thinking... Surely the Lord will present opportunities for them to accept the gospel later on in their lives.

We had a scary but later funny experience this week. We were walking from Jardim Tatiana to Novo Mundo on a dirt road that connects them. This road is very dark and very long. It was around 7 pm and it was pitch black. All of a sudden a motorcycle drives up behind us, starts beeping and the two guys start screaming: "Hand everything over!" I literally froze for like 3 seconds but then the guy starting laughing and revealed he was a member from the ward. Very funny... Because of that experience, we're taking more care with where and when we walk

- imagine it was for real!

This week we have planned the baptism of Maria Lúcia, Gustavo's mother. She has had to work for the past 3 Sundays but she is finally getting off work this weekend! Please pray for her. We also have the possibility of baptising Nicole, Kauam's sister. She gave up all of a sudden so to help her become more excited about the church and the gospel, we spoke a bit more about temples and eternal families. I even did a little drawing for her! :)

Love you and miss you all!
