Golden Referral (Week 77)

Hey everyone!

Besides the lack of baptism, this week was pretty awesome-sauce! On Sunday (12/02) last week we received a phone call from a very excited ward mission leader of another ward. He said something like this: "Dude, dude, I have THE reference for you guys. Oh my days, this guy is amazing. Dude, really. If you work well with him you will baptize him in 2 weeks." That was like music to our missionary ears! He began explaining that a man called Eron had knocked on his door Sunday night asking about the church. As they talked, Eron explained that he had been investigating the church on the internet for a while and finally found a chapel. He went on Sunday night (the time most churches here are open) but there was no one there. So he asked around and happened to knock on the door of a member!

He is 22, graduated from university and is a chef. We went there on Wednesday and taught the restoration. He was very attentive throughout and he accepted to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. We returned the next day and he had read and prayed he said: "I read and prayed and feel that everything in this church and in the Book of Mormon is very coherent with Christ's teachings. I want to be baptized in the church." You can imagine my smile as he said those words. Despite working on Sunday, he managed to stay for sacrament meeting and loved everything! His baptism is planned for this Sunday. Please pray for Eron, the golden referral!

Our recent covert Gustavo gave us a referral of one of his school friends Fabio a few weeks ago. One night I woke up and the first thing that came to my mind was that name - Fabio! We went there the next day and met him, a twelve year old kid and his parents, Isabel and Reginaldo. We taught the restoration and like the other youth we have been teaching, he prayed and received his answer. His parents (who are not legally married yet) were a bit apprehensive about allowing Fabio to be baptized so soon in a church that is new to them. On Sunday, Reginaldo went with Fabio and absolutely LOVED church. He participated in gospel principles, in the Elders' Quorum and constantly asked question and praised the church saying he was loving it and wanted to come back. :) Please pray that they will change their opinion and let Fabio be baptized this Sunday.

We met a man called Robson this week. He is single (and ready to mingle) and has 6 year old son called Kenzo! His brother sadly took his own life recently and that really shook up the family. We taught him the Plan of Salvation and he got slightly emotional when we spoke how his actions today will have an eternal effect on not only his life but also his son's. We extended the invitation for him to be baptized on the 26th of February and he accepted! He went to church and is reading the Book of Mormon! Pray for this wonderful man! :)

I didn't take many pictures this week but I'll get better at that! :) Thank you for your support and continued prayers. Thank you for the package the ward and the family put together! It was wonderful reading the letters and eating British stuff. ;)

LOVE YOU ALL!!!
