Hey everyone! :D

Once again, my companions and I were taken aback by our investigators faith and determination. Sunday morning we went to pick up the investigators, including Gustavo and Henrique who I talked about last week. When we got to their house, they weren't there. Our disappointment was short lived as their neighbour told us they had gone walking to church with little Rodrigo, our little recent convert. The walk to church at their pace is almost 30 minutes and they went by themselves, without us having to wake them up our wait for them. These boys are 10 and 8 years old, and when they could be sleeping on a Sunday morning they were walking to church, with their towels and change of clothes, ready for their baptism. Bruno and Vitória who were baptised last week were also not home when we went to pick them up as their dad had taken them to church. Although he didn't stay for the whole meetings, I admire him for his continual support in his children's new journey. Needless to say, Carmita and her family also made their way to church independently and were sitting on the front row again when we got there. It's wonderful to see these children of God become spiritually self-reliant. They are praying, reading, going to church and doing things individually. What a blessing to see this. :)

Henrique and Gustavo's baptism went very well. Their father turned up for the last 2 hours of church as he promised although I couldn't help but be surprised. :P They were very happy and excited and the members were incredibly supportive too. The primary president, Luciana, has been present at every baptism and said at their baptism: "Today is primary there were 30 children. More than there were men in the elders' quorum. I looked at them and say future leaders in the church. What a wonderful vision to have." I agree 100% and felt how much she loved the children and also the love God has for His little ones. Rodrigo did the last prayer and asked God to bless Henrique and Gustavo to change their lives.

We have gone back to their house since their baptism and have seen a dramatic change in their behaviour. I'm not sure if you remember that scene in Alvin & the Chipmunks when they drink a sip of coffee and are jumping off the walls and breaking everything, but that was pretty much them before their baptism. We went back yesterday and I asked Henrique (the older one) about the Book of Mormon we had given them. He took it out of his school bag and showed us what he had read. As I looked at the book he held in his hands, I noticed some words he had written in with his pen. On the sides of the book it said: "Henrique | Mormon" and "God is Loyal" (a football team's slogan). They are still super active but getting better by the day!

Tomorrow we will have the baptism of Yasmin, who is Bruno and Vitória's cousin. She is SUPER smart and understands and remembers everything we teach her. She went to church last week and loved it. At the end she said: "See you in a week!" All her family is looking forward to it and so are we!!

Guess what day it is tomorrow?? MOTHER'S DAY!!! At least for us missionaries! Can't wait for the Skype tomorrow to see my family and most of all my beautiful mother!! :)

LOVE YOU ALL!!!
