My dear familia and amigos!
So this week has been quite uneventful! It doesn't help that my memory is terrible too! But I'll try to remember some things. :)
On Sunday we took Paulo (one of the boys in that awesome family) to church and we had planned to baptise him but in the end he said that he didn't want to be baptised without his cousin who was visiting for the first time that day. We were super sad but our ward mission leader cheered us up and we had a mini meeting during church. We have great things planned to help the ward get more involved with the missionary work. Everyone is excited to have missionaries again and we need to use that excitement to move the work forward. Although we had no baptism, the two young men enjoyed church and want to keep coming back.
Josy and Shirley, the two young women in the family, are now at a church camp during Carnaval and have been super welcomed and embraced. It's great to know that the Lord's sheep are being taken care of. :)
This week has been super busy at the office and I've been doing a bunch of stuff, there's so much to learn! This week I took a few missionaries to the Federal Police so they could renew their Visas. As I went with one of the elders to get his legal stuff sorted, the lady said: "Why did you wait so long to come here with him? Today is the last day he has to renew his Visa, if he doesn't he'll have to take a flight home tomorrow." Oops. But in the end it all worked out fine and everyone is legal in the country (for now). ;)
This week I have had a great experience reading the Book of Mormon in Alma. I learned that I should be humble, accept His will and endure any difficulties and He will bless us with success, investigators and converts. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it contains the fulness of the gospel. It truly stands as a witness that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I have also loved reading in the New Testament in the Bible. To hear the words of Jesus himself brings a spirit that is so nice. :)
Sorry it was rushed and not very exciting this week, but transfers are Tuesday and I'll have something to say for sure next week!
Love you all,
Elder Torres
