Hello family and friends!
It's great to hear from all of you and to learn about everything that's happening over there in Ipswich and beyond. This week we have less time to write, so this email will be a bit shorter.
Last week I was telling you about the little boy called Fernando. We'd been praying and fasting all week for his dad to soften and allow him to be baptised. We went over to their house this week to speak to him and his wife came out and said that it would be best if we came another day. We asked if she could go call him but she said she didn't want to bother him because it could make the situation worse. Well, we'd been praying for a miracle and they only happen with faith so I persisted and asked again. To our luck, Fernando came out of the door and hear us talking so he just called his dad. His dad let us come in to pray with him and when we began talking about the progress he had made with the drawings and the lessons it seemed like his heart just opened and he knew that we were doing something good and of great value to Fernando. Unfortunately he didn't allow his son to be baptised this week but next week he will be baptised after General Conference! It was really a miracle and I knew that God was helping us and helping his dad to understand. Thank you for your prayers on that side of the world, I'm certain they helped too! :D
The other day it was the leaving party for Alan, who is going to serve a mission in Chile Osorno. On our way there, it became super windy and there was a lot of lightning. Then there was a city wide power cut and there were no lights at the chapel. After a lot of praying, mainly from a girl who was really scared, the lights came back on and the farewell went on. Me and my companion both shared our testimonies and it was a very spiritual moment. We didn't stay til the end because we had to go teach some people. But when we left it started raining A LOT. We got home absolutely soaked but feeling good because we were doing the Lord's work.

The baptisms we had marked for this week all fell so we didn't baptise but the Lord blessed us with lots of new people at church this week. So next week we should have several baptisms after General Conference if all goes well and we are absolutely diligent and exactly obedient.
I'm loving being on a mission and I'm learning everyday with my companion, leaders, members and even investigators. On Wednesday we'll be going to the temple with several mission zones, I can't wait! :D
Speak to you all next week!
Lots of love,
Elder Torres
